The Deputy Minister of Health praises the medical staff in Badrashin and refers the administration of Hawamdiya Hospital for investigation

Dr. Amr Qandil, Deputy Minister of Health and Population, conducted an inspection tour yesterday evening of a number of medical facilities in Giza Governorate, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, with the aim of strengthening field presence and direct communication with medical teams and citizens, and ensuring workflow and application of safety and quality standards.

 

The Deputy Minister began his tour with a visit to Hawamdiya General Hospital, where he inspected the reception, emergency, and radiology departments. And the laboratory, intensive care, and nurseries.

 

 It was found that there was overcrowding of patients, the absence of the emergency director, the absence of some specialties, and the lack of cleanliness of the reception, in addition to directing one of the patients to have a television scan outside the hospital despite the presence of radiologists, the absence of an x-ray technician in the evening shift, and the unavailability of some reagents in the laboratory.

 

Dr. Qandil directed that all specialties be available in the emergency, Commitment to examining patients, redistributing radiology and laboratory specialists and technicians to cover the evening shifts, and adhering to infection control procedures and the policy of dispensing antibiotics in nurseries. At the end of the visit, he referred the hospital administration, those responsible for emergency and reception, the head of the radiology department, and the absent technician to investigation, with an emphasis on exploiting the available capabilities to facilitate services for citizens.

 

Then the Deputy Minister moved to Badrashin Central Hospital, where he inspected the reception and emergency departments, radiology, laboratory, blood bank, and intensive care, listened to the patients’ companions, and directed the rapid transfer of emergency cases in need of intensive care. Laboratory equipment, the availability of necessary reagents and chemicals, the quantities of types in the blood bank, and monitoring the rate of surgical operations.

 

At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Amr Qandil praised the performance of the medical team at Badrashin Central Hospital, thanking the hospital director and the work team.
