Jawaher Al Qasimi receives the West Asian Women’s Volleyball Champions

Sharjah, December 17 / WAM / The wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah received Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, this evening at Al Badi Al Amer Palace, in the presence of Sheikha Hayat bint Abdul Aziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supervision and Follow-up Committee of the Women’s Arab Club Games. Players of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club Volleyball Team, the team that won the title of the first edition of the West Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship, which was held in State of Kuwait.
This reception comes as a culmination of an exceptional journey presented by the players of the Sharjah Club in the tournament, where they succeeded in winning the gold medal after winning the final match over the Kuwaiti Al-Fatah Club by three games to no return, which was held last Saturday at the Salwa Al-Sabah Sports Club in the State of Kuwait, amid a remarkable official and public presence.
Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi delivered a speech in which she expressed her great pride in this achievement, congratulating her daughters, the players, stressing that what they presented embodies the spirit of commitment and diligent and sustainable teamwork, which are the values on which the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation system has been based since its founding, and which believes that investing in people is the truest path to creating championships.
Her Highness said, “Today we stand proudly in front of the fruit of years of faith, work, and patience. Our daughters, with whom we started dreaming since childhood, are raising the name of Sharjah high by winning the cup and gold medals in the West Asian Women’s Volleyball Club Championship in Kuwait. This achievement is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of an ambitious march towards regional and international podiums, based on solid values and sports ethics that reflect the spirit of Sharjah and its honorable identity.”
Her Highness added, “We believe that sports are not just results and trophies, but rather a process built with patience, measured by commitment, and rooted in values. What we are working on today in women’s sports is building a successful human being with honorable achievements, not just creating competitors. Most importantly, is instilling the spirit of cooperation, discipline, and respect in every female player. We realize that regional and Arab competition is strong and that there are countries that have preceded us by long steps in training and experience, but we have chosen to advance steadily, not with hasty leaps, and to learn from every experience without losing.” Our identity or ambition Our goal is for our teams to represent the Emirate of Sharjah with their morals before their achievements and to enter every tournament with the spirit of one team and the insistence on continuous development with the support of the national cadres within the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation team and with the efforts of the technical staff and by daily monitoring of every small detail to create a clear path for future generations, a path that believes that the challenge is an honor and that true excellence is continuity and that a dream when nurtured sincerely must one day reach the summit.
Sheikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa also congratulated the team’s players and expressed her happiness with this achievement, saying, “This coronation represents a turning point in the career of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, not only because it is the first championship title, but because it indicates the advanced status that women’s sports have now occupied in the Emirates and the Gulf countries, and confirms that Emirati women are capable of competing, excelling, and raising the flag of the nation.” Highly expressed in various forums.
This title was not the result of a single match, but rather the result of an exemplary journey that the team had gone through without any loss since the start of the tournament, as it opened its journey by defeating Al-Arabi of Qatar, then continued its brilliance by defeating Al-Nasr of Yemen, before achieving an important victory over Salwa Al-Sabah of Kuwait in the group stage. In the knockout rounds, the team continued to impose its heroic character, defeating Al-Fayhaa of Saudi Arabia in the quarter-finals and then Al-Ula of Saudi Arabia in the semi-finals in a confrontation that was described as one of the strongest and most competitive matches of the tournament to reach the final.
