The Palestinian National Council and the Jordanian Parliament affirm the unity of their position in support of the Palestinian cause
Today, the Arab Brotherhood Committee in the Palestinian National Council held a meeting with the Palestine Committee in the Jordanian House of Representatives in the Jordanian capital, Amman, during which the latest political developments on the Palestinian arena and related regional developments were reviewed.
The two sides affirmed – during the meeting – the unity of their firm and supportive position for the rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is ending the ongoing Israeli aggression, rejecting displacement plans, and affirming the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967. Its capital is East Jerusalem, in accordance with the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.
The delegation of the Arab Brotherhood Committee in the Palestinian National Council included members of the National and Central Councils, Imran Al-Khatib, and Dr. Fawzi Al-Samhouri, along with the head of the Media Division in the Council, Abdul Hamid Qarman, and the director of the Office of the Speaker of the Council, Tamim Al-Majali.
The delegation of the Palestinian National Council appreciated the positions of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led by King Abdullah II and his faithful Crown Prince, The Jordanian government, the House of Representatives and the Jordanian people, in support of the Palestinian cause and Jerusalem, expressed their appreciation for the role played by the Jordanian House of Representatives in defending the rights of the Palestinian people in various regional and international forums, affirming absolute support for the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
For his part, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Palestine Committee in the Jordanian House of Representatives, Representative Suleiman Al-Saud, affirmed the position of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King and Government. Parliament and people, supporting the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, stressing that the Palestinian issue represents a fixed priority for the House of Representatives and the Jordanian people.
He also stressed that Jordan’s positions are firmly established in defending the rights of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and condemning Israeli violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem; In violation of the Hashemite guardianship.
The two sides stressed – at the conclusion of the meeting – the importance of strengthening coordination and parliamentary cooperation between the two councils at various levels. In a way that serves the interests of the Palestinian and Jordanian peoples; It strengthens common positions towards Arab issues, especially the Palestinian issue.
