Qaidi decides “Al-Nasr” and snatches Al-Bataeh’s points in the fatal time

Al-Nasr returned from the smiling emirate with three valuable points, after defeating Al-Bataeh 3-2, in the confrontation that brought them together on Sunday evening in the ninth round of the ADNOC Professional League.

The beginning of the match was a debate between the two teams without a clear advantage for either side, before the 33rd minute witnessed the most prominent turning point, when the referee showed the red card to Al-Bataeh goalkeeper Ibrahim Issa after he obstructed Iranian Mahdi Qaidi outside the penalty area.

Despite the assistant referee’s indication of an offside situation, the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology intervened to confirm the validity of Qaidi’s position, and the expulsion decision was confirmed.

Al-Nasr took advantage of its numerical superiority before the end of the first half, specifically in the seventh minute of stoppage time, when Mehdi Qaidi succeeded in breaking the offside trap and was alone with the substitute goalkeeper, scoring the lead goal for the visiting team.

With the start of the second half, Al-Nasr imposed its field advantage and threatened Al-Bataeh’s goal on more than one occasion, but the absence of the final touch prevented the score from being consolidated.

Al-Bataeh took advantage of the situation to return to the atmosphere of the match, taking advantage of a fatal mistake by Al-Nasr goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Tamimi, who failed to handle a cross, and it was prepared for Anatoly, who put it into the net, scoring the equalizer in the 72nd minute.

The result did not last long, as Al-Nasr responded quickly with a distinctive individual shot by Mehdi Qaidi, during which he dribbled past the defense and shot a powerful ball that landed in a difficult place against substitute goalkeeper Hammoud Mubarak in the 74th minute.

But Anatoly returned to shine again, taking advantage of a ball inside the penalty area, which he successfully shot into the goal, scoring the second equalizer for Al-Bataeh in the 77th minute.

Defensive lapses returned to haunt Al-Bataeh in the final minutes, and substitute Sheikhna Doumbia took advantage of them and scored the winning goal for Al-Nasr in the 90th minute, giving his team the three points.

With this result, Al-Nasr raised its score to 14 points, advancing to sixth place, while Al-Bataeh remained in twelfth place with 6 points.
