Ivory Coast begins its title defense with a difficult victory over Mozambique in the African Nations

The Ivory Coast national team began the campaign to defend the African Cup of Nations title, with a difficult 1-0 victory over the Mozambique national team, today, in the first round of the sixth group of the group stage of the continental competition, currently being held in Morocco.
The winning goal for the Ivory Coast national team was scored by its star, Amad Diallo, in the 49th minute, while the players of both teams were unable to score the net throughout the remaining time of the match.

Ivory Coast will meet its Cameroonian counterpart in a heavy-caliber confrontation in the next round, which will also witness another meeting between the teams of Gabon and Mozambique.
It is noteworthy that the competition regulations stipulate that the winner and runner-up of each of the six groups qualify for the round of 16 in the tournament, in addition to the best third-place teams.
