China opposes America’s imposition of additional tariffs on semiconductors

The Office of the United States Trade Representative recently announced the results of its investigations under Article 301 into China’s policies in the field of semiconductors, announcing plans to impose new tariff measures under the same article on semiconductors coming from China.

According to the announcement, the measure will begin with an initial tariff rate of zero percent, then rise within 18 months to a level that will be announced no less than 30 days before the 23rd. June 2027.

The spokeswoman added that China has taken note of the relevant situation and made strong representations to the US side through the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism.
