Facing Shabab Al-Ahly in the “Super” is a new start for Sharjah

A member of the Sharjah Club Football Company, supervisor of the first team, Abdul Majeed Al-Nimr, stressed the importance of the match that Sharjah will play tomorrow, against Shabab Al-Ahly in the Super Cup, describing the match as “the beginning of a new start for Sharjah,” indicating that he hopes the team’s ranks will be completed with the return of some of the injured players, stressing his great confidence in the team’s players to deliver a strong match, in comparison with the advanced technical level that the team showed in its last match against Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia in the AFC Elite Champions League, despite the… Losing by one goal for nothing.
Al-Nimr told Emirates Al-Youm, in response to a question about the possibility of Sharjah winning the Super Cup, and compensating its fans after the decline in its results in the recent period: “The Super Cup is a one-match tournament, so the chances of the two teams are equal at 50% for each of them, and the team that is the most prepared and focused will have the largest share in the victory.”
Sharjah continues its intensive preparations, under the leadership of Portuguese coach Jose Maurice, in preparation for facing Shabab Al-Ahly, as the Al-Sharqawi team seeks during the match to restore the tone of victories that it lost in the last period, as the last victory achieved by Sharjah was over the Saudi Al-Ahly team in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League for clubs, while the last victory achieved by the team in local competitions was against Al-Dhafra with two clean goals, in the sixth round of the ADNOC Professional League.
Abdul Majeed Al-Nimr, who also currently holds the position of Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Sharjah Club, led the team to achieve an important victory over the Saudi Al-Ahly team at home, with an unanswered goal, scored by Othman Kamara, in the fifth round of the AFC Champions League for clubs.
Regarding what was missing from Al-Sharjah during its last match with Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, which ended with the latter’s victory with a goal without a response, in the sixth round of the AFC Champions League for the elite, Al-Nimr said: “Al-Sharjah played a good match against Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, but it lacked finishing the attacks, after it had many opportunities and reached Al-Hilal’s goal more than once without succeeding in scoring, and although Al-Hilal also played the match in the absence of a number of its main players, it has high-level players, as the second-row players do not They are less than the basic ones.”
Abdul Majeed Al-Nimr, who worked as coach of the Sharjah team for a temporary period, after the departure of former Serbian coach Milos, added: “I took over the task of coaching Sharjah for a temporary period, and I handed over to the new coach, the Portuguese Jose Moraes, all matters related to the team, especially with regard to the players and their capabilities.”
