Abu Dhabi Stem Cells and Yas Clinic obtain accreditation for cell therapies "FACT"

ABU DHABI, 30 December / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center and Yas Clinic Hospital – Khalifa City have obtained internationally recognized accreditation from the Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapies (FACT) for the Abu Dhabi Bone Marrow Transplantation (AD-BMT) program, in an achievement that reflects full compliance with the international standards “FACT–JACIE” in the collection, processing and application of cell therapy products.
FACT conducted a comprehensive assessment of the center and hospital facilities, including a detailed review of documents and inspection of facilities to ensure compliance with international standards, as well as compliance of operations with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Good Tissue Practices regulations.
The center and hospital have received FACT accreditation for a comprehensive range of treatments included in the program, including hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for adults and children, immune cell therapy, collecting cell therapy products from bone marrow for use in treatment and manufacturing, collecting cell therapy products by separating blood components for use in administration and manufacturing, and processing cell therapy products with different levels of treatments, from the minimum to the most advanced, which is conducted in the cell processing laboratory at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center.
Professor Yendry Ventura, CEO of the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, and Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi Bone Marrow Transplant Program, confirmed that the FACT accreditation reflects the commitment of the work teams to excellence and innovation in the field of cell therapy, confirms the efficiency of operations and the strategic vision of the two institutions, and strengthens their position as a regional leader in developing advanced treatments and conducting scientific research, with a commitment to the highest standards of quality and patient care.
