Israel stops Doctors Without Borders operations in Gaza as of January 1

Israel announced that it will suspend the operations of several humanitarian organizations working in Gaza, including Doctors Without Borders, because they do not meet its new rules for verifying international organizations in the Strip.

The Israeli Ministry of Expatriate Affairs said that the organizations whose operations will be banned starting next January 1 have not met its new requirements related to sharing information regarding employees, financing and operations.

The Ministry accused Doctors Without Borders of not clarifying the roles of some of its workers, whom Israel accused of cooperating with Hamas and other armed groups.
