Family Welfare Authority: Our programs for"Family year" Focused on supporting the well-being of families and individuals
ABU DHABI, 31st December, 2017 (WAM) – Her Excellency Salama Al Amimi, Director General of the Family Welfare Authority, confirmed that the year 2026, the “Year of the Family,” will constitute a basic milestone for strengthening the Authority’s role, stressing that its programs will focus on supporting the well-being of families and individuals in Abu Dhabi through the integrated system of care services that it launched, which in its five categories combines prevention, response, and extending a hand of support to everyone in their various stages of life and circumstances, and includes consultation and guidance, containment and care, empowerment, awareness, and embrace. Supporting alternative care and seeing children in custody.
She said that the family is the first framework in which values are formed, a sense of security is built, and the ability to cohesion and empathy is established. Through the family, children grow up in a supportive and nurturing environment, elders are respected and cared for, and individuals find a sense of belonging and shared responsibility.
She added that the “Year of the Family” represents an affirmation that social well-being is not a subsequent result of development, but rather a basic pillar of it, and that “the Year of the Family is a collective responsibility that requires an effective partnership between government agencies, society, the private and public sectors, and with all members of society, to build a more cohesive and stable society, capable of confronting changes, and preparing for the future.”
Al Amimi concluded her speech by saying that the Authority will continue to move with clear determination and firm commitment to translate the vision into tangible impact, and to ensure that the family remains at the heart of policies, services and decision-making, in a way that contributes to consolidating the foundations of a cohesive society, led by concern for the human being, supported by the values of care and responsibility, and moving confidently towards a more stable and prosperous future.
