The “National Council” is held to discuss the government’s policy in achieving national security for the pharmaceutical industries

The Federal National Council will hold its third session of its third regular session of the eighteenth legislative term, headed by Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Council, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Zayed Hall at the Council’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, during which it will discuss the topic of the government’s policy in achieving national security for the pharmaceutical industries and medical supplies.

Council members will direct five questions to Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Community Protection. Namah Abdullah Al Sharhan will ask two questions about the mechanism of rapid medical intervention for critical cases and response obstacles associated with delays in insurance company approvals, and about periodic examination for early detection of cancer. Dr. Adnan Hamad Al Hammadi will ask a question about health insurance for citizens, while Aisha Ibrahim Al Marri will ask two questions about establishing rehabilitation centers for senior citizens in the Northern Emirates, and about providing medical transportation services for senior citizens to review health facilities.

The Council will also review a message received from the government regarding the Council of Ministers’ decision on the Federal National Council’s recommendations regarding the government’s policy regarding enhancing reproductive rates in the country.
