Morocco preys on “untamed lions” and qualifies for the African semi-finals
Morocco qualified for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations after a 2-0 victory over Cameroon, nicknamed the “Untamed Lions,” today, Friday, as Brahim Diaz continued his brilliance in the continental championship hosted by his country.
Morocco, the only African team to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals, reached the semi-finals for the first time since 2004.
Real Madrid player Diaz scored in the 26th minute, after following a header from Ayoub El Kaabi, to score his fifth goal in the tournament, strengthening his lead on the scorers list.
Ismail Saibari scored the goal to secure the victory for the home team with a low shot in the 74th minute.
Morocco is waiting to face the winner between Nigeria and Algeria for a seat in the final, seeking to win the continental title for the second time after winning it in 1976.
