There is no justice in Africa

Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Egyptian national team, praised the performance of his players despite the loss to Senegal in the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian team lost 1-0 to Senegal, allowing the 2021 champion to qualify for the final of the tournament, awaiting the winner from Nigeria and Morocco.

Hossam Hassan said in a press conference on Wednesday that he was satisfied with the performance of his players and thanked them for what they presented in the tournament.

He added: “There is a difference in rest of 24 hours between the Egyptian and Senegal teams after playing the quarter-final matches.”

He continued: “There is no justice in the time difference between matches, due to travel and lack of time. I make no excuses and thank the players for what they have provided.”

The coach said: “There were some refereeing errors in the match, and I have the right to demand them. I hope that FIFA intervenes in major tournaments such as the African Nations.”

He added: “Egypt will remain great in championships and history, and I still confirm that there are some arbitration errors and there is no justice in Africa.”

The Egyptian national team had objected to some of the decisions of Gabonese referee Pierre Acho, including granting defender Hossam Abdel Majeed a yellow card for the first violation he committed, depriving him of participating in the next match.

The Egyptian national team players also called for a return to video technology to check for a handball against Sadio Mane before shooting the only goal, in addition to demanding a penalty kick for Ahmed Sayed “Zizou” after a shared ball with a Senegalese defender.
