Morocco defeats Nigeria on penalties and joins Senegal to the African Cup final

Morocco advanced to the final of the African Cup of Nations today, Wednesday, with a 4-2 penalty shootout win over Nigeria after regular and extra time ended in a goalless draw.
A goalless draw prevailed in the original and extra time despite the great offensive pressure from Morocco in light of great public support at Prince Moulay Abdullah Stadium in Rabat, so the two teams resorted to penalty kicks.
Nigeria missed two penalty kicks through Bruno Onyemaechi and Samuel Chukwueze, while Hamza Akman missed for Morocco, putting the hosts in the Nations Cup final for the first time since 2004.
Morocco set a date next Sunday at the same stadium with Senegal, which beat Egypt 1-0 earlier today in Tangier.
