Al Ain City Municipality strengthens the public health system during 2025

Al Ain, January 15 / WAM / The Al Ain City Municipality, represented by the Public Health Department, has strengthened the public health system during the year 2025 by implementing comprehensive monitoring programs targeting health, veterinary and food activities.

Al Ain Municipality has carried out more than 15,000 field inspection visits, and issued more than 10,000 health certificates and regulatory procedures, as part of its ongoing efforts to protect the health of the community and ensure compliance with approved requirements.

The municipality stressed that proactive oversight work constitutes a fundamental pillar in promoting public health, through continuous field follow-up, immediate handling of reports, and raising the level of health compliance in various sectors.

On the veterinary side, the specialized teams dealt with 472,493 heads of animals entering the livestock markets, in addition to 113,833 animals in the pet and ornamental bird markets, and carried out 9,506 control and confinement operations, and seized 5,085 stray or stray animals, as part of efforts to reduce health risks and promote animal welfare.

The oversight efforts included carrying out inspection visits to 2,592 public drinking water tanks and 2,383 public swimming pools, and dealing with 3,048 reports related to drinking water, in addition to intensifying oversight of fish, vegetable and meat markets, and carrying out inspection visits to public restrooms in the city.

Within the framework of ensuring food safety, the public slaughterhouses in Al Ain, managed by the municipality, recorded a productivity of 345,182 heads, with the implementation of strict health procedures that included the total and partial killing of cases unfit for consumption, while the laboratory unit supported the supervisory work by implementing 2,789 laboratory tests in accordance with approved standards.

The Al Ain City Municipality affirmed the continued development of the public health system, and the strengthening of proactive oversight and integration between field inspection and community awareness, in line with the vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to provide a healthy, safe and sustainable environment for the residents and visitors of the Al Ain region.
