The Olympic team loses to Vietnam 2-3 after overtime… and bids farewell to the Asian Cup

The Olympic team bid farewell to the AFC U-23 Cup finals, after losing to the Vietnam team 2-3, in the confrontation that brought them together today, Friday, at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal City Stadium in Jeddah, in the quarter-finals.

The fatal winning goal for the Vietnam national team came in the first extra period, after the match was extended to extra time after the original time ended in a positive draw 2-2.

Despite the loss, the Olympic team played a great match characterized by seriousness and high fighting spirit, and appeared as a strong opponent for the Vietnam team.

The Vietnamese team took the lead in the 39th minute through Nguyen Ly Phat, before Junior Niday equalized the score for the Olympic team in the 42nd minute.

The Vietnam national team was able to score the second goal through a header shot by Nguyen Dinh Bac in the 62nd minute, but the Olympic “White” team again succeeded in equalizing the score through player Mansour Saeed in the 68th minute, with a powerful header shot into the net.

In the first extra period, the Vietnamese national team was able to score the third goal through Pham Minh Buc in the 101st minute.
