The updated regulations obligated importers wishing to bring vegetables And fresh fruits to the Kingdom by submitting an electronic application to obtain an import permit, provided that the importer must be a licensed Saudi entity, or a foreign investor who has completed the “registration” procedures with the Ministry of Investment, without violating the requirements of the Gulf agricultural quarantine.

The amendments did not ignore the promising “aquaculture” sector, as Article 208 stipulated the necessity of foreign investors wishing to establish projects in this field to obtain “registration” with The Ministry of Investment is a basic condition, while the Ministry’s licenses for individuals and local companies continue.
