"Media Z" Discusses the growing relationship between my generations "Increase" and"alpha" And modern media

DUBAI, 21 JANUARY / WAM / The Dubai Media Academy, affiliated with Dubai Media Incorporated, concluded the “Media Z” event, which it organized in cooperation with the Canadian University in Dubai, with the aim of providing a strategic platform that combines media, technology and education, discussing the growing relationship between the “Z” and “Alpha” generations and modern media, and exploring the impact of electronic games, short videos, and artificial intelligence technologies on content creation and its future trends.

The event came in the context of Dubai Media Incorporated’s support for the “Year of the Family” and within its efforts aimed at providing an analytical vision for the future of media in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and preparing a new generation capable of employing modern technology to produce influential and conscious content, linking the academic aspect with practical application, and contributing to achieving a balance between digital innovation, family values, and national identity.

The event, hosted by the Canadian University in Dubai, witnessed the participation of an elite group of media and educational leaders, experts, specialists, academics and university students in the country, with the aim of exchanging ideas, visions and points of view. It included holding a series of specialized discussion sessions, including a session that addressed the economic dimensions of the digital games and short video industry and its psychological, societal and educational effects and its relationship to national identity, in addition to exploring ways to enable media professionals and communications officials to address and include new generations.

It also included a session, “The Story in 60 Seconds… The Short Content Revolution,” which reviewed the mechanisms for reaching Generations Z and Alpha through the type of content they prefer to follow through digital platforms, while the session “The Screen Generation: Identity, Behavior, and Society” shed light on the psychological, educational, and social aspects associated with Generation Z and Alpha’s interaction with the digital world and its repercussions on identity and societal values.

The event included holding a round table that brought together an elite group of experts and specialists with the aim of formulating a set of recommendations directed at media and educational institutions and communications officials in government agencies on best practices in addressing the “Z” and “Alpha” generations.

The event was based on the results of an analytical study carried out under the auspices of the Dubai Media Academy, which showed that the size of the electronic gaming economy exceeds the total economies of film, series and music platforms combined, making it one of the most pivotal components of the modern media economy.

The study also confirmed that the youth group constitutes about 40% of the demographic composition in the Emirate of Dubai, and that they have become more inclined to follow “microdrama” and short video content, which reflects the extent of the rapid transformations that the content industry is witnessing at the current stage.

Mona Bousamra, Director of the Dubai Media Academy, stressed the importance of the “Media Z” event and its role in understanding the rapid transformations in the consumption patterns of Emirati families and the youth group for digital content.

She explained that the initiative represents an intellectual and research platform that contributes to building practical visions that help media and educational institutions develop their tools and discourse in line with the aspirations of new generations and at the same time promote societal values ​​and family reunification.

She said that the language of the media today is mostly directed to the older age groups, which represent about 60% of the country’s demographic composition, while Generation Z constitutes about 40% of the population of the Emirate of Dubai, which is a percentage that is rising within the demographic composition, which calls for the necessity of paying attention to this group, which is characterized by its broad and influential interaction with the digital world and modern content creation.

She stressed the Academy’s keenness to train a new generation of media professionals and communications officials to produce attractive content that is in line with the requirements of the “Z” and “Alpha” generations, in a way that enhances the presence of national identity among this group, supports community cohesion, and builds responsible digital awareness.

For his part, Dr. Sherif Moussa, Dean of the College of Engineering, Applied Sciences and Technology at the Canadian University in Dubai, stressed that the rapid digital transformations impose on media and educational institutions a shared responsibility in preparing a generation capable of dealing consciously and responsibly with modern media tools.

He pointed out that artificial intelligence has become a pivotal element in the future of content creation, adding that the relationship between media and artificial intelligence reflects the nature of the accelerating digital transformations that the world is witnessing today, which has cast a shadow on the methods and methods of creating and producing content directed to the youth and members of the “Z” and “Alpha” generations.

He said that the importance of the “Media Z” event lies in its ability to highlight the necessity of preparing and qualifying a conscious generation that possesses the technical and intellectual skills necessary to understand modern media tools and employ artificial intelligence techniques in creating responsible and innovative content capable of making a positive impact while preserving societal values ​​and national identity.
