94 horses compete for 10 million dirhams in one evening "Fashion Friday"

Dubai, January 22 / WAM / Meydan Racecourse will host “Fashion Friday” tomorrow, one of the most prominent evenings of the Dubai Racing Carnival season, which brings together world-class races of the first category.
The evening’s program includes nine strong races of the “Group” category, topped by three races of the first category, with a total participation of 94 elite horses from the stables, with financial prizes amounting to 10 million and 530 thousand dirhams, and topped by the Al Maktoum Challenge “Class 1” race, which is a major preparatory race for the Dubai World Cup.
The evening begins with the second round of the Al Maktoum Challenge “Class 1” race for purebred Arabian horses aged five years and above, which is held on the sand track for a distance of 1,900 metres, with the participation of 16 horses, and with financial prizes amounting to 500 thousand dirhams.
The second half, “Firebreak Stakes” (Class 3), is held for purebred hybrid horses aged four years and above, on a sand track for a distance of 1,600 metres, with the participation of 7 horses, with financial prizes amounting to 700 thousand dirhams.
As for the third round, it is the Al Fahidi Fort race, “Class 2”, which is held on the grass field for a distance of 1,400 metres, with the participation of 15 purebred crossbred horses aged four years and above, with financial prizes amounting to 850 thousand dirhams.
The fourth half will witness the holding of the “Al Shindagha Sprint” “Class 3” race for purebred hybrid horses aged three years and above, on a sand track for a distance of 1,200 metres, with the participation of 6 horses, with financial prizes amounting to 700 thousand dirhams.
The fifth half is dedicated to the “Blue Point Sprint” category 2 race, which is held on the grass field for a distance of 1,000 metres, with the participation of 11 purebred crossbred horses aged three years and above, with financial prizes amounting to 850 thousand dirhams.
In the middle of the evening is the sixth and most prominent round under the name “Al Maktoum Challenge” “Class 1” for purebred hybrid horses aged four years and above. It is held on the sand track for a distance of 1,900 metres, with the participation of 9 horses, with financial prizes amounting to 3 million and 680 thousand dirhams. It is considered a major preparatory race for the Dubai World Cup.
The seventh round also highlights “Jabal Hatta” (Class 1) on grassy terrain for a distance of 1,800 metres, with the participation of six purebred crossbred horses aged four years and above, with financial prizes amounting to one million and 850 thousand dirhams, and it is considered an important preparation station for the Dubai Turf Race.
The eighth half will witness the “Emirates 2000 Guineas” “Class 3” race, which is designated for three-year-old purebred crossbred horses, and is held on a sand track for a distance of 1,600 metres, with the participation of 16 horses, and with financial prizes amounting to 700 thousand dirhams.
The evening concludes with the ninth round, “Al-Khail Trophy” (Category 3), which is held on the grassy field for a distance of 2,810 metres, with the participation of eight purebred crossbred horses aged four years and above, with financial prizes amounting to 700 thousand dirhams.
