"Climate change and environment" Organizing a mangrove planting event at the Jebel Ali Reserve in Dubai

Dubai, January 22 / WAM / The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority, sponsored by Al Rostamani Group, organized a community event to plant mangrove trees in the Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary in Dubai.
The event witnessed the presence of His Excellency Heba Obaid Al Shehhi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Biodiversity and Aquatic Life Sector at the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, along with a delegation from Al Rostamani Group, which included Mr. Abdulrahman Saqr, Head of Transformation Program Management and Head of Human Resources, Mr. Endre Frankel, Head of Financial Management, Mr. David Sawiris, General Manager of United Diesel, and Mr. Bazar Fouad Mohammed, General Manager of Abdullah Al Rostamani Real Estate Company. Acting, in addition to representatives of the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority.
Her Excellency Heba Al Shehhi stressed that linking the protection of nature and the promotion of biodiversity to the social fabric is the true guarantee of the sustainability of the ministry’s relevant efforts. She said: “Today we celebrate the ‘Year of the Family’ in a practical way. The presence of employees with their children to plant mangroves in this natural reserve carries a profound message that preserving the environment begins with the family, and that environmental values are transmitted by example and practice. The seedlings that children planted today with their small hands will grow with them, always reminding them that they are protectors of nature and partners in creating a green and sustainable future.” For our country, through these small fingers, we will be more able in the future to raise awareness of the importance of nature-based solutions and redefine our entire relationship with Mother Nature and the importance of preserving it.”
She added: “We value the strategic partnership with the ‘Al Rostamani Group’ and the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority and their continued support for the Ministry’s efforts. Mr. Abdul Rahman Saqr stressed the group’s firm commitment to supporting the UAE’s national trends in the field of sustainability and climate action, noting that sponsoring this event comes within the framework of a strategic and fruitful partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. He explained that the group believes in the role of the private sector as a major partner in protecting natural habitats and enhancing community awareness, especially of the importance of mangrove trees, which represent a national environmental wealth and a pivotal element in preserving biodiversity and supporting the country’s efforts to achieve climate neutrality.
