The first round of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship begins tomorrow in Dubai

Abu Dhabi, January 23 / WAM / The first round of the third edition of the Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship will begin tomorrow at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex (NAS) in Dubai, with wide participation from club and academie players, in a sporting event that reflects the growing status of the tournament and its pioneering role in establishing a culture of excellence and achievement in the sport of Jiu-Jitsu at the state level.

The competitions for the “without suit” category will be held over two days. The fights begin on Saturday with competitions for under-12, 14, and 16 years, while fights for the under-18, adult, and master’s categories will be held on Sunday.

Abdullah Salem Al Zaabi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: “The tournament contributes to strengthening the system of values ​​associated with the sport of Jiu-Jitsu, through a competitive environment that supports technical development and instils the principles of responsibility and commitment among the players.”

He added: “The comprehensiveness of the age groups participating in the tournament, from juniors to the masters category, reflects an integrated vision of the role of sports in bringing together the various segments of society within a unified framework that enhances positive interaction between generations, and dedicates sports as a platform that embraces everyone.”

In turn, player Hamdan Salem, from the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club (under 16 years old), said: “Participation in the first round represents an important beginning for us as players, especially after the successes achieved by the club in the past seasons. We are preparing for this tournament with high concentration, and we enter the fights with the aim of presenting a performance that reflects the amount of work we do in training, and adhering to the instructions of the technical staff.”

He added: Maintaining the title is a great responsibility, and we realize that the competition this season will be stronger, but we at the Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club work in a team spirit, and we are keen to fight every fight with confidence and discipline, in order to continue the positive results and represent the club in a way that befits its achievements.
