He pointed out that the movement of passengers through the Saudi railway networks was not affected by the current events in the region, but is witnessing continued operation at full capacity to meet the increasing demand for transportation between Cities.
Al-Farhan explained that the Orient Train is one of the most prominent means of transportation that has witnessed active movement during the recent period, as it operates daily with a number of up to fourteen trips, with a capacity of approximately 4,000 seats per day, which allows serving large numbers of passengers between the various stations.
He added that the number of passengers who have been transported since the beginning of the events until today has reached about 35 thousand passengers across the various stations.
He pointed out that the trains have contributed to facilitating movement. Mobility for citizens And residents, especially from GCC countries
With regard to the increase in demand for travel, Al-Farhan confirmed that this did not cause any operational pressures on the system, indicating that the trains are already operating at their maximum operational capacity according to precise schedules and advanced operational procedures that ensure maintaining the highest levels of efficiency.
He said that daily operation is carried out according to a precise follow-up system and continuous improvement of performance efficiency to keep pace with the increasing volume of demand for trips.
He pointed out that the role of trains at this stage is not limited to being a means of transportation only, but rather represents one of the fastest, safest and most punctual means of transportation, stressing that flight schedules have not been affected by the events, and that all trips are running according to their scheduled times.
Al-Farhan added that the railway system in the Kingdom is not limited to the Orient Train only, but includes Several major networks are managed by the Saudi Railways “SAR”, including the North Network and the East Network, in addition to the Haramain Express Train, in addition to a special network for the Hajj season, which is the Holy Sites Train.
He indicated that all of these networks are currently operating at a high operational capacity, as the various stations are witnessing an active movement of transporting passengers between cities without any impact on regional conditions.
He pointed out that the Haramain Express Train is witnessing, at the same time, a high operational intensity coinciding with the Umrah season in the month of Shahr. Ramadan.
He stressed that all train networks in the Kingdom are in a state of readiness and full operation to ensure the transportation of passengers between the various stations with high efficiency, stressing that the train transportation system represents an important pillar in supporting the movement of transportation and enhancing integration between the various means of transportation in the Kingdom.
Al-Farhan concluded his speech by emphasizing that the success and continuity of operational operations is due – after God’s grace – to the continuous follow-up and great support of the wise leadership, in addition to the direct supervision of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, This ensures that travelers reach their destinations on time and with the highest levels of safety and efficiency
