Tareq Al-Jalahma was appointed Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs in Kuwait

It was announced today, Sunday, that former Al-Qadisiyah Club and Kuwait national team player, Tariq Al-Jalahma, was appointed Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, as part of a ministerial reshuffle that included a number of portfolios in the Kuwaiti government.
Al-Jalahma is considered one of the most prominent Kuwaiti football stars in the attacking position at the Gulf and Arab levels. During his career with Al-Qadisiyah Club, he achieved several titles, including the Kuwaiti League, the Prince’s Cup, and the Crown Prince’s Cup, contributing to consolidating the club’s position as one of the most prominent clubs in the history of Kuwaiti football.
Following his retirement from playing, Al Jalahma headed to the media field, where he worked as a sports analyst on a number of prominent sports channels, including Abu Dhabi Sports Channel and beIN Sports channels. He also holds a doctorate in physical education, in addition to coaching certificates from the Asian Football Confederation.
Today, an Amiri Decree was issued in the State of Kuwait, No. (11 of 2026), requiring a ministerial reshuffle to a number of ministerial portfolios in the Kuwaiti government, as part of an effort to enhance the efficiency of government performance in a number of vitally important sectors.
The ministerial reshuffle, in the government of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, included the appointment of Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yaqoub Yousef Al-Sayyid Hashem Al-Rifai as Minister of Finance, Osama Khalid Abdullah Boodai as Minister of Trade and Industry, Reem Ghazi Saud Al-Fulaij as Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Affairs, Tariq Hamad Nasser Al-Jalahma as Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, and Abdulaziz Nasser Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq as Minister of State for Economic Affairs. and Investment, and Abdullah Sobeih Abdullah Bouftin, Minister of Information and Culture.
