Al Wasl needs to quickly get back on track

Al-Wasl team coach, the Swedish Masoud Miral, confirmed that the competition in the league this season has become more difficult, complex and fierce, and requires great mental focus, noting that “it is difficult to see a team like Shabab Al-Ahly lose four matches,” which reflects the strength of the tournament and the necessity of maintaining the highest levels of concentration. He added that Al-Wasl needs to quickly return to the right track before competing in its important continental entitlement in the AFC Champions League 2.

Al-Wasl is preparing to face Al-Zawraa of Iraq the day after tomorrow in Iraq, in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Asian Championship, a confrontation that Miral described as one of the most difficult tests awaiting the team this season, which requires high mental and physical readiness.

Miral told Emirates Al-Youm: “We always play to win, so we felt in the Al-Nasr match, which ended in a 1-1 draw, that we lost two points. The performance was good throughout, and I think we will get more points in the upcoming matches, but we must get back on the right path.”

He added: “We have a rule in the team: If you win, draw, or lose, you have the right to be happy or sad for only 24 hours, and after that we must get up and think about the next match. “We are professionals and there must be a strong reaction.”

The Swedish coach continued: “For me, it does not matter who we face. We have a style of play that is capable of always giving us victory, but if you look at the last 10 matches, you will find that we have lost unusual points from Al Wasl, and we must find a way to regain victories quickly.”

Miral commented on the level of competition, saying: “The league this season requires great mental focus, and I think it is difficult to see the Shabab Al-Ahly team losing four matches, and this shows that any slight decline may cost you a lot.”

He concluded his speech by emphasizing that Al-Wasl’s focus is now entirely on the continental championship: “Now we must focus on the AFC Champions League 2. Facing Al-Zawraa will not be easy, and we must be at our best to come out with a positive result.”
