6 goalkeepers shine, and their clubs are far from “the top of the league”

Six goalkeepers – whose clubs are not competing and occupy late positions in the professional football league – entered into a struggle for the list of the most successful ball savers in league matches this season, before the start of the 16th round scheduled for next Friday.

Statistics from the records of the Professional League Association revealed that Mohammed Salem, whose team Dibba ranks 12th in the league (12 points), tops the list of most saves with a total of 50 saves, five saves ahead of Ahmed Hamdan, who made 45 saves, and his team, Khor Fakkan, ranks seventh with 18 points.

Fahd Al Dhanhani came in third place with a total of 42 saves, with his club Baniyas, which in turn occupies last place with 11 points, while Amjad Al Sayed came fourth with a total of 38 saves, knowing that his club Al Dhafra occupies 10th place with 16 points.

The goalkeepers of the mid-ranking clubs continued to impose their presence on the list of the most saves, with the defender of the Ajman Club eighth in the ranking (17 points), goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani in fifth place (35 saves), slightly ahead of Sultan Al-Mundhiri (32 saves), the goalkeeper of Kalba Club, whose team ranks seventh with 18 points, and Al-Nasr goalkeeper Ahmed Shambeh came in seventh place with a total of 30 saves, even though his team occupies sixth place on the ladder. The list of veteran goalkeepers came in late positions in the top 10 list, with Al Ain goalkeeper Khaled Issa ranked eighth with a total of 29 saves, slightly ahead of Ali Khaseef, the defender of Al Jazira Club, who ranked ninth with a total of 27 saves, knowing that Al Ain occupies second place in the league standings with 37 points, and Al Jazira occupies fifth place with 22 points.

The second goalkeeper of Al-Nasr Club, Abdullah Al-Tamimi, entered the top 10 list, sharing the same balance in terms of saves with Ali Khaseef, who made 27 saves.
