Dubai is a vibrant, athlete-friendly city

The Dubai Games Organizing Committee announced the launch of the seventh edition competitions, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, tomorrow, and will continue until the 15th of this month.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said, in a blog post on “X”, yesterday: “The seventh edition of the Dubai 2026 Games will begin, with the participation of 56 cities from around the world, and more than 1,600 male and female players within 239 teams, during the period from February 12 to 15.”

His Highness added: “The Games continue to consolidate their position as a global sports platform that provides an integrated competitive experience in accordance with the highest regulatory standards. Dubai is a vibrant, athlete-friendly city from which we derive our energy. Here we are all one team, and our goal is to establish a healthy lifestyle and improve the quality of life for all members of society.”

The seventh edition of the tournament comes with an official partnership with DB World, a diamond partnership with Damac, Emarat and Beyond Real Estate Development, a golden partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group and Unilabs Middle East, and a strategic partnership with the Dubai Sports Council.

“The Tower” Challenge

For the third year in a row, the seventh season of the tournament begins with the Cities Bonus Points Challenge, as Burj Khalifa hosts, today, 56 teams participating in the Cities Challenge, which is the largest number in the history of the tournament for participating international cities, as the teams compete to complete the challenge and reserve 16 additional points before the start of the main competitions.

Government challenge for men

The tournament competitions begin with the Government Challenge, with the first day witnessing two rounds for the men’s category, starting at 3:00 pm, with the winning teams qualifying to compete for the championship title on the final day. The seventh edition of the tournament attracted record participation from government teams, as the number of registered teams reached 78 teams in the men’s category.

The Dubai Games Organizing Committee confirmed that the current edition of the tournament constitutes a continuation of its successes in motivating various members of society to adopt a lifestyle that consolidates the principles of activity, challenge and flexibility, as the Dubai Games 2026 raises the ceiling of competition with a new and innovative path that embodies the tournament’s slogan “Together we face the challenge”, so that victory goes to the team best able to plan, distribute roles and make the right decision despite any circumstances. The organizing committee indicated that Dubai’s leadership in the sports sector is embodied in the levels of professional organization, sustainable social impact, and global resonance. Known for the continuous growth of sporting events organized by Dubai.

To enhance the enthusiastic atmosphere of the tournament, Dubai Games organizes a wide range of activities accompanying the tournament to enrich the fans’ experience, as the tournament hosts a group of experiences suitable for various family members, in addition to periodic draws throughout the tournament days to win three cars and many valuable prizes.

Busy competition schedule

The Dubai Games competitions continue on the second day, with the third round for the men’s category starting at 3:00 pm, in addition to the Community Challenge at 6:40 pm, where 27 qualifying teams compete for the Community Challenge qualifiers against the winning team from last year’s edition (AJ) in the hope of winning the championship title.

The third day of the tournament will witness the Government Challenge for Women competitions starting at 9:00 am, with the participation of 21 teams, in addition to two rounds of the Cities Challenge starting at 3:00 pm, with the participation of 56 cities from around the world, which confirms the growing global interest in participating in the tournament, as it is one of the most prominent collective challenges in the world.

The tournament will reach the awaited final, on the 15th of this month, bringing enthusiasm to its highest levels starting at 8:00 in the morning, with two rounds of the Junior Challenge with the participation of 56 teams, as the youngsters compete this year for the first time in the same challenges as the adults, in proportion to their abilities and skills.

The final competitions for the Government Challenge for women will then begin at 3:00 pm, the Government Challenge for men at 4:30 pm, and the final of the Community Challenge at 6:00 pm. The tournament will conclude its competitions with the Cities Challenge at 7:30 pm, crowning the teams worthy of holding the championship title in this year’s edition.

In addition to winning the honor of holding the championship title, the winning teams receive prizes with a total value exceeding four million dirhams, distributed among the winners in the first three ranks of the Government Challenge – Men, the Government Challenge – Women, the Community Challenge, and the Junior Challenge, while the winners in the first ten ranks of the Cities Challenge are honored.
