Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi was elected Vice President of the Asian Horse Racing Federation

Member of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Emirates Horse Racing Authority, Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, won the position of Vice President of the Asian Horse Racing Federation for the second time in a row, during a meeting held by the Federation in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the Asian Horse Racing Conference, after he gained the confidence and consensus of the national member bodies representing the continent of Asia, the Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.

This victory comes as a new confirmation of the position enjoyed by the United Arab Emirates in the horse racing sector at the regional and international levels, and its continuing efforts to develop this sport, establish best regulatory practices, and enhance cooperation between national federations, which contributes to the advancement, protection and development of horse racing in accordance with the highest international standards.

Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi said that this victory reflects the UAE’s active presence in continental sports organizations, and its influential role in formulating general policies for horse racing, supporting integrity and governance, and promoting sustainability in this vital sector.

He stressed that this election embodies the unlimited support given by the wise leadership to the equestrian and horse racing sector, expressing sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office, for the great interest their Highnesses attach to developing the sport of horse racing, and enabling national competencies to represent the country. The country participates in regional and international forums, thus enhancing the UAE’s presence and leadership position. He also praised the follow-up and interest of Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmuk Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Horse Racing Club.

Al Shehhi explained that this achievement confirms the UAE’s position as a reliable partner in leading the future of horse racing in Asia, and a pioneering model in institutional sports work based on cooperation, building trust, and unifying efforts to serve this ancient sport.

The UAE participated in the activities of the forty-first edition of the Asian Horse Racing Conference under the slogan “Honoring Tradition, Creating the Future,” which brought together decision makers and leaders of the horse racing sector, and witnessed the participation of an elite group of actors concerned with the racing industry, and 600 senior figures, decision makers, and pioneers of the horse racing sector from around the world.

The conference agenda was designed to enrich dialogue, exchange visions, and extract practical lessons and experiences, thus contributing to addressing the challenges and investing in opportunities facing the horse racing industry at the global level.
