"Abu Dhabi Culture and Tourism" You win an award "Best suite" With an exhibition "Vitor" In Madrid


ABU DHABI, 11th February, 2017 (WAM) – The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi concluded its successful participation in the “Fitor 2026” exhibition in the Spanish capital, Madrid, as part of its initiatives aimed at strengthening long-term cooperation frameworks with the global travel and tourism sector, and consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a preferred destination throughout the year.
During the event, the department highlighted the diversity of tourism components in the emirate, from authentic culture, adventure experiences, luxury, entertainment and culinary arts to recreational offers and the finest hospitality services.
The “Vitor 2026” exhibition witnessed Abu Dhabi being crowned the “Distinguished Destination of the Year” by the “Union of Spanish Travel Agencies”, and Carlos Garrido de la Cierva, President of the Federation, praised the tourist destination of Abu Dhabi, describing it as a world leader.
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi also won the “Best Pavilion” award at the exhibition from the IFEMA Madrid Exhibition Centre, in recognition of the innovative pavilion design and its ability to present attractive interactive narratives that attracted the interest of visitors and partners.
Abdullah Youssef, Director of International Operations Department at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, said that the “Vitor” exhibition constitutes a major annual platform to strengthen our international partnerships, especially in the Spanish market. Abu Dhabi’s selection as “Distinguished Destination of the Year” and obtaining the “Best Pavilion” award at the exhibition embodies the growing global appreciation for the exceptional tourism and cultural experiences that Abu Dhabi offers throughout the year, and our approach based on investing in the power of partnerships and employing them in achieving our ambitious goals, and we will continue to develop experiences. “Authentic and sustainable that supports the sector’s long-term growth, and allows our visitors to enjoy ‘unforgettable’ holidays in Abu Dhabi.”
The department’s participation in the “Fitor 2026” exhibition came as part of its efforts to establish the tourist destination’s presence in priority international markets, including Spain.
The department’s delegation included a number of the most prominent entities operating in the hospitality sector and tourist and cultural attractions in the emirate, including Yas Plaza Hotels, Al Dhafra Resort Vineette Collection, Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi, Sofitel, Masarra, City Seasons Hotels, Rixos Marina Resort Abu Dhabi, and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company.
The delegation also included Etihad Airways, the museums of the Saadiyat Cultural District, Tourism 365, and Voyage Tours, as well as representatives of the tourism system in the Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions.
