"A quarter century " The first phase of the digital theater program concludes


Sharjah, February 11, 2019 / WAM / The Rubu’ Qarn Center for Theater and Performing Arts, one of the specialized centers affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, concluded today the first (local) phase of the digital theater program, which was held under the slogan “Towards an Innovative Theatrical Future,” as part of its keenness to develop the talents of its members and integrate digital technologies and artificial intelligence with the performing arts, in a way that contributes to the development of contemporary theatrical practices.
The program witnessed the organization of a series of advanced training workshops during which the center hosted an elite group of theatrical experts from the People’s Republic of China as part of its efforts to enhance cultural and artistic cooperation and exchange experiences in the field of digital theater techniques and design, sound techniques, and lighting techniques.
These workshops were based on the extensive professional experiences of the experts who presented a summary of their practical experiences, with a focus on employing digitalization and artificial intelligence in developing theatrical designs and transforming traditional performances into innovative interactive experiences that reflect the development of contemporary theatre.
Participating in this stage were Yi Yuping, Chairman of the Yinchuan Theater Design Authority, Deputy Director of the Chinese Scenographic Society, and expert Zhang Xinfeng, member of the Chinese Scenographic Society, who are considered among the prominent figures in the field of theater design and technology in China.
The experts expressed their admiration for the level of organization and skills of the participating affiliates, and the Sajaya Girls of Sharjah affiliates and the Sharjah Youth affiliates received wide praise for their excellence in theoretical innovation, technological integration, and their ability to employ artificial intelligence tools in designing theatrical spaces and contemporary lighting.
The program contributed to consolidating a set of values and skills among the participants, most notably creative thinking, innovation, teamwork, professional discipline, and sound technical planning, in addition to enhancing problem-solving skills, the ability to adapt to modern technologies, and taking responsibility for implementing theatrical projects in accordance with international professional standards.
