المملكة: Saudi capabilities and local innovations take center stage at the World Defense Exhibition
Continue World Defense Exhibition 2026, organized by the General Authority for Military Industries, held its activities in the capital, Riyadh, for the fourth day, focusing on developing national talent and building long-term defense capabilities, in line with the goals of nationalization and strengthening the sustainable defense industries system in the Kingdom, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The activities of the fourth day were devoted to the program "Future talents" In the main theater (Hall No. 2), which is one of the most prominent strategic initiatives to support National competenciesand enabling Saudi youth to engage in qualitative career paths within the defense industry sector.
The program was implemented under the auspices of BAE Systems, and in cooperation with a number of government agencies, as it brought together students and specialists at the beginning of their careers with industry experts in sessions that addressed the future skills required to support the Kingdom’s defense transformation, align education outcomes with industry needs, and build technical capabilities for future roles in areas including cybersecurity, unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, space, and technology. Emerging.
Capable national cadres
The program began by emphasizing the priority of developing human capital and qualifying national cadres capable of keeping pace with global technological changes, amid the participation of leaders from the Ministry of Defense, the Authority and a number of relevant authorities, in confirmation of the Kingdom’s commitment to creating systematic professional and development paths for young people within the defense and security industries system.
His Excellency the Governor of the General Authority for Military Industries, Engineer Ahmed Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, stressed the importance of investment. In national competencies, pointing out that developing human capabilities represents the basic pillar in achieving the Kingdom’s goals in the defense industries sector.
He said: "Through initiatives such as the (Future Talents) program, we work to empower the nation’s youth with skills, knowledge, and creativity, which enhances the sector’s competitiveness and contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030."
Industrial cooperation and future partnerships
The activities of the program continued on the fourth day. "Meeting with government agencies in Saudi Arabia" In the main theater (Hall No. 2) and the Saudi Supply Chains Area Theater in Hall No. (3), which provided direct opportunities for exhibitors and investors to learn about national priorities in the field of defense capabilities, and explore opportunities for industrial cooperation and future partnerships, in support of the integration of talent development, industry and investment paths.
For his part, CEO of the World Defense Exhibition Andrew Percy explained that the fourth day embodies the essence of the Kingdom’s military industries trends, stressing that the program "Future talents" It reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to qualifying a generation capable of keeping pace with global defense transformations, and building long-term capabilities that enhance the readiness of national defense industries.
The exhibition continues until February 12, with the participation of 1,468 exhibitors from 89 countries, in addition to live displays and advanced technologies across the fields of land, air, sea, space, and security, which contributes to supporting the development of national capabilities and driving the growth of the defense industries system in the Kingdom.
