The Education, Human Development and Society Council discusses regulating children’s use of social media platforms

Chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the Education, Human Development and Community Council, and in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Council, the Council discussed regulating children’s use of communication platforms at its second meeting of 2026.
The UAE Government Media Office published a blog post on its account on the “X” platform in which it explained the most prominent topics of the meeting, which were as follows: regulating children’s use of communication platforms as a top priority, managing age-related access in a way that takes into account developmental stages and young age groups, evaluating the impact of platforms on family relationships and the quality of communication within the home, as well as developing educational policies and curricula within a unified national reference for school education.
