Al Ain bids farewell to the Gulf Champions League

The Al Ain team bid farewell to the Gulf Champions League for Club Football, after losing today at home with a free goal to Al-Qadisiyah of Kuwait, in the sixth and final round of the group stage, in the match that brought together the two teams at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
“Al-Zaeem” ended its tournament in third place with 9 points, behind Iraqi Zakho, the leader of the group, and Al-Qadisiyah, third.
Al Ain, which competed in the tournament relying on the reserve team, used a number of first team players in today’s match, led by Paraguayan international Alejandro Kaku, along with Moroccan Hussein Rahimi, in an attempt to boost its chances of qualifying for the semi-finals.
Al Ain entered the match with a chance of winning or drawing to ensure passage, but the course of the match became complicated early after the team completed the confrontation with ten players from the 12th minute, after its player Ibrahim Ndiaye was sent off with a direct red card as a result of a violent intervention.
The only goal of the match was scored by Al-Qadisiyah player Badr Al-Mutawa in the 50th minute, putting the hosts under great pressure.
Despite Al Ain’s many offensive attempts in the second half, the result remained the same, and the team exited the tournament in the group stage.
