After belittling him…Slot responds to Wayne Rooney with a firm comment

Arne Slot responded firmly to Wayne Rooney’s statements that doubted his possession of the aura necessary to lead Liverpool after the departure of Jurgen Klopp, stressing that success in winning titles is what gives the coach this aura.
Wayne Rooney made statements two days ago in which he confirmed that Arne Slot does not have the appropriate aura to coach the Liverpool team after the departure of Jurgen Klopp.
Arne Slot’s response, which was published in the English newspaper The Guardian, came a few days after Wayne Rooney’s statements, saying: “We are all different. The only thing I have in common with Klopp is that we won the league, and that’s not bad, right?”
Slott added: “I think that the more a coach wins, the more influence he has. By the way, I don’t know if you agree with Wayne Rooney, but if that is the prevailing opinion, people will tell you that I had more influence last season than I have this season.”
The Dutch coach continued, pointing out that Rooney may be the only one who holds this opinion, but he acknowledged that Klopp possesses a clear aura, stressing that the winning coach also possesses an aura.
Slott believes that the intense media scrutiny means that the chances of coaches remaining in their position are much lower compared to the possibility of remaining for long periods similar to the period of Klopp and current Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola.
Slot’s speech came before facing Nottingham Forest, which changed its coach for the fourth time that season, with reports indicating that there was a dispute between former coach Sean Dyche and some players, which played a role in his ouster.
