المملكة: 5,255 pieces of clothing and counterfeit logos were seized in “Wakr” in Jeddah Governorate


Counterfeit sports clothing, during a joint field campaign to enhance control and compliance with regulations and combat irregular activities.

Field teams monitored the violating site and began immediately dealing with it, as it was found that it had been transformed into a manufacturing and storage den equipped with laser and thermal printing machines and advanced computers used in preparing counterfeit products.

Logos of international clubs

Careful inventory work resulted in an arrest. 600 pieces of clothing bearing the logos of international clubs, in addition to 2,475 stickers that were prepared for printing and 2,180 pieces of raw clothing of unknown origin before distributing them in the markets.

The General Director of Operations for Monitoring Negative Phenomena, Yasser Bakhsh, explained that the site contained labor housing facilities and integrated operational equipment for the production and distribution of counterfeit products for the purpose of illegal profit.

Procedures followed

The raw clothes were handed over to charitable organizations to benefit from in accordance with established procedures, while the rest of the counterfeit seizures were referred to the Inventory Committee of the South Sub-municipality in preparation for their destruction and the protection of intellectual property rights.

The campaign was implemented in broad coordination that included The Zakat Authority, the Customs Authority, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, emphasizing the integration of government efforts to combat commercial fraud in all its forms and manifestations within random sites.

The Jeddah Municipality confirmed the continuation of its strict oversight campaigns to deal firmly with any practices that harm the national economy and violate the approved rules and regulations, declaring that there will be no tolerance in closing sites that engage in unlicensed activities.
