Abdul Majeed Hussein reveals the reason for the exit of the Shabab Al-Ahly striker in the Al-Wasl match

Vice President of Shabab Al-Ahly Football Company, Abdul Majeed Hussein, confirmed that the 1-1 draw against Al-Wasl at the top of the 18th round of the ADNOC Professional League is a positive result in light of the circumstances that the team went through, noting that the “Knights” presented a strong match and maintained the lead at an important stage of the season’s life.

Abdul Majeed Hussein told Emirates Al-Youm: “Getting a draw against Al-Wasl in such circumstances is considered good. We played against a strong team that appeared at a distinguished level in the last matches, and yet our team was present and able to return with a positive result.”

He explained that the circumstances that accompanied the match were not easy for the team: “We suffered from absences and injuries before and during the match, most notably the injury of Sultan Adel. In the first minutes, the player was suffering from a fever before the match, but the technical staff did not have many options, and preferred to include him, but he was unable to complete the half. Sultan will return stronger, God willing, and will be ready in the upcoming matches.”

He added: “A draw against Al-Wasl is a good result and will serve us in the coming period, especially since Al-Wasl is one of the competitors and will have a say in the upcoming rounds. A point in a match of this type is better than a loss, and we consider it a gain in light of the data.”

The Vice President of the Football Company sent a message to the fans, saying: “I thank the fans of Shabab Al-Ahly for their attendance and support. Their presence is very important at this sensitive stage of the season.”

Abdul Majeed Hussein pointed out that the team is entering a difficult period that requires great focus: “The team is facing an important challenge in the AFC Champions League against Iranian Traktor. We have only four days to prepare, and I hope that the technical staff will succeed in ending the recovery process and restoring the players to their health before the match. The match will not be easy, and we must provide a strong performance before playing the return match.”

He concluded his speech by stressing that the team is capable of continuing the competition: “Shabab Al-Ahly has the character of a champion, and if we continue to work in the same spirit, we will maintain the lead and achieve positive results in Asia as well.”
