المملكة: "Regional dust and sand storms": 15 cases of dust activity in the Kingdom

Advertise The Regional Center for Dust and Sand Storms recorded 26 cases of dust activity in the Middle East region on April 19, 2026, distributed among a number of countries in the region, in light of weather effects that led to the growth of dust phenomena in some regions.

The Center explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia topped the countries most affected by 15 dust cases, while 4 cases were recorded in each of Jordan, Iraq and Iran, while none were recorded. Dust cases were reported in the rest of the countries of the region during the same period.

The center indicated that these cases were monitored via Accredited weather monitoring stations, within the (METAR) reports, indicating that some locations witnessed significant activity in terms of the number of hours of dust, which was reflected in the low horizontal visibility in those areas.

The Center confirmed the continuation of its efforts in monitoring and analyzing weather phenomena related to dust, calling for the importance of following up on official reports and issued instructions, to reduce the effects of these cases on public health and transportation safety.

This comes within the Center’s efforts in monitoring, research and warning, to enhance Preparedness and awareness of the dangers of dust storms in the region.
