162 male and female players in my competition "The table" and"Badminton" Starring Mansour bin Zayed " Al Wathba 2026"
Abu Dhabi, 6 March / WAM / The organizing committee announced the participation of 100 players from the open category in the table tennis competitions, with 66 players and 34 players for the men’s and women’s categories, within the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship – Al Wathba 2026.
The tournament will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Presidential Council, at the headquarters of the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, and will continue until March 17, with the participation of more than 5,000 male and female athletes in 16 competitions, and its total prizes amount to 10 million dirhams.
The organizing committee also revealed that 62 male and female players of various nationalities will participate in the elite badminton competition, including 46 male and 16 female players, and the competition will continue until next Wednesday, in addition to the start of the chess competitions tomorrow over two Saturdays for men, while the second day will witness women’s competitions in conjunction with International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 of each year.
The volleyball competitions resulted in the victory of the “Ocean Air” team over “Al-Raed” in two sets to none, and “MIH” over Emirates Stars 2-1, so that the “MIH” team topped the standings of the third group with 6 points, while the Ochit team raised its score to 3 points.
Yesterday’s football competitions witnessed the victory of the battalion teams over the veterans 3-1, Abu Dhabi Legends over Ras Al Khaimah 3-0, the Khalifa Foundation over Al-Wonan 2-0, the European team over Al-Nashama 3-0, Three Points over Al-Hazzaa 4-3, and the biggest win came to “Secure Line” over Al-Qattara 30-1, and Eggs tied with Sports for All Academy 1-1.
His Excellency Arif Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, described the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship as a community Olympic festival, which enhances the country’s efforts to motivate society to practice sports, which is evident in the large participation of athletes in the various categories.
He added that the diversity of participation in various sports in the tournament is a positive thing for society, and supports the efforts of clubs and federations as well, in addition to the fact that this number of Ramadan tournaments in the UAE revives many sports, and this tournament in particular has become a distinctive phenomenon during the month of Ramadan, with the presence of this large number of nationalities in one place, praising the efforts of the organizing committee for the event.
