News about the selection of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new guide of Iran

The Iranian Leadership Council of Experts reached on Sunday the selection of a new guide for the Islamic Republic to succeed Ali Khamenei, who was killed on the first day of the American-Israeli attack on Iran on February 28, according to what members of the council announced, but his name has not yet been announced.
Member of the Leadership Council of Experts, Ahmed Alam Al-Huda, said, “A vote was held to choose the guide, and the guide was chosen,” according to what was reported by Mehr Agency.
He added that the Council Secretariat will announce the name at a later time.
Other members confirmed that the vote had taken place, and one of them indicated that the son of the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, Mojtaba, would be the one to assume the position.
Mojtaba Khamenei’s name had previously been put forward to succeed his father, who assumed the position in 1989.
Mohsen Heydari, a member of the council representing Khuzestan Province, said, “The most suitable candidate was chosen, and he received the approval of the majority of the members of the Leadership Council of Experts,” according to what ISNA reported.
Mohammad Mehdi Mirbagheri, another member of the council, said in a video clip published by Fars Agency that the council had reached “a decisive opinion that reflects the view of the majority.”
