During a phone call with the Head of State, the Italian Prime Minister condemns the continued Iranian attacks and affirms her country’s solidarity with the UAE
Abu Dhabi, 8 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, during a phone call he received today from Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, discussed developments in the situation in the region in light of the accelerating military escalation there and its dangerous repercussions on regional and global security and peace.
Her Excellency renewed Italy’s condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks that continue to target the UAE and a number of sister countries in the region, and the violation they represent of the sovereignty of these countries, international law, and the United Nations Charter. She affirmed its solidarity with the UAE regarding all the measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its territories and citizens.
Her Excellency also expressed her thanks and appreciation to His Highness for the attention the state gives to Italian nationals residing there during these difficult circumstances.
For his part, His Highness the President of the State expressed his thanks to Her Excellency for Italy’s supportive and solidarity position with the UAE.
The two sides stressed that the continued military escalation undermines stability and security in the Middle East and exacerbates regional tensions and crises in the region.
