UAE air defenses handle 12 ballistic missiles and 17 drones
Abu Dhabi, March 9, 2026: UAE air defenses detected 15 ballistic missiles today (March 9, 2026), 12 of which were destroyed, while 3 fell into the sea.
18 drones were also detected, 17 of which were intercepted, while one fell within the country’s territory.
Since the start of the blatant Iranian attack, 253 ballistic missiles have been detected, of which 233 were destroyed, while 18 fell into the sea, and two missiles fell on state territory.
1,440 Iranian drones were also monitored, of which 1,359 were intercepted, while 81 occurred inside the country’s territory. 8 mobile missiles were also monitored and destroyed.
These attacks resulted in 4 deaths from: Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi nationalities, and 117 minor injuries from Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bengali, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comoros, and Turkish nationalities. Iraqi, Nepalese, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, and Palestinian.
The Ministry of Defense confirmed that it is fully prepared and prepared to deal with any threats and to firmly confront everything that aims to destabilize the state’s security, in a way that ensures the preservation of its sovereignty, security and stability and protects its national interests and capabilities.
