The stars of the “Race to Dubai” golf tournament shine in the American “The Players” Championship

Florida, March 16 / WAM / The players of the “DB World” golf tour, which is held under the slogan “Race to Dubai”, shined in the “The Players” tournament held in the United States of America, after five of them succeeded yesterday in being among the top ten in the tournament, which is considered one of the most prominent tournaments of the season, and its total prize money reaches 25 million US dollars.
World golf competitions include four major tournaments referred to as the “Grand Slam,” while “The Players” Championship, which is held in the state of Florida, has a special status, as it is often described as the fifth major tournament, due to the value of its large financial prizes, in addition to the participation of the best 50 players in the international classification of golf professionals, along with a number of the most prominent players in the world.
American Cameron Young was crowned champion after finishing the competition with 13 strokes under par, while the best five results came from the DB World Tour players, all of whom are members of the European team in the Ryder Cup, with Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick in second place with 12 strokes under par, Scottish Robert McIntyre in fourth place with 10 strokes under par, and Swedish Ludwig Aberg in fifth place with 9 strokes under par, while Englishman Tommy Fleetwood came in, Resident of the UAE, Austrian Sepp Straka is in eighth place with 8 strokes under par.
The DB World Tour competitions will continue next week with the launch of the thirteenth tournament of the season, which marks the beginning of the “Asian Series” with the holding of the “Hainen Classic” tournament in China.
The tour’s competitions, which bear the name and logo of Dubai under the name “Race to Dubai”, are scheduled to tour various countries of the world, holding no less than 42 tournaments in 25 countries.
The final qualifiers for the tour will be held in the United Arab Emirates, where the best 70 players will qualify for the Abu Dhabi Championship, which will be held at Yas Links Stadium from November 5 to 8, 2026, and the best 50 players will qualify for the DB World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Estates Golf Club during the period from November 12 to 15.
