The President of the State and the Prime Minister of Malaysia discuss by telephone developments in the situation in the region and their repercussions on regional and international security

Abu Dhabi, 24 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received a phone call today from His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, during which they discussed the developments taking place in the region and the repercussions of the escalating military actions on security and stability at the regional and international levels, in addition to their effects on international shipping traffic and the global economy.

The call also addressed the ongoing Iranian terrorist attacks against the UAE and countries in the region, which target civilians, civilian facilities, and infrastructure, as they represent a violation of the sovereignty of these countries and international laws and norms, and an undermining of regional and international security and stability.

His Excellency the Prime Minister renewed his condemnation of these attacks, praising the UAE’s wise management of the crisis and the efficiency of its procedures in order to preserve the security and safety of its citizens, residents, and visitors.

The two sides stressed the need to contain the escalation, stop military actions, and give priority to serious dialogue and diplomatic solutions to address the outstanding issues in a way that preserves the security and stability of the region.
