Activating paid parking in a number of areas in Mohammed bin Zayed City

Q Mobility Company announced the activation of the paid parking system in a number of commercial sectors in Mohammed bin Zayed City, under the regulatory supervision of the Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, starting next April 6.

The activation of paid parking at this stage includes the commercial sectors ME10 and ME11 in Mohammed bin Zayed City, in addition to the commercial area located on the main street within the villa areas Z17-01, Z19, Z20 and Z27, with the aim of organizing the parking process in areas that witness a density of movement and commercial activity.

Parking will also be regulated in neighboring villa areas, where vehicle parking will be limited to permit holders or authorized persons only, which contributes to preserving the privacy of residents and regulating the use of parking within residential neighborhoods.

The paid parking system in these sectors aims to address traffic challenges by regulating the use of parking and reducing random parking, which contributes to improving the flow of traffic within the commercial sectors, and enhancing smooth access to commercial and service establishments, which supports economic activity and creates a more organized and efficient work environment.

Mohammed bin Zayed City is one of the vital areas that witnesses heavy vehicle movement daily as a result of the influx of large numbers of workers and visitors to the commercial sectors. One of the most prominent challenges facing the region is the difficulty of finding parking due to the high demand for available parking, and the spread of random parking, which leads to congestion of the streets and obstruction of traffic, which hinders commercial activity due to the difficulty of movement and easy access for visitors to the facilities.

The number of sub-parking lots that will be included in the activation is 11,030, distributed as follows::

ME10 (6666 positions), andME11 (3758 positions), andZ17-01 (431 positions), andZ19 (108 positions), andZ20 (67 positions). A fee of (2 dirhams) per hour is applied to sub-parking lots in the area, and fees can be paid via various digital channels, including the “Darb” and “Tamm” applications, SMS, or payment devices available in the area, ensuring a flexible and smooth usage experience for all users..

Q Mobility confirmed that this step comes within an integrated strategy aimed at enhancing the efficiency of parking management, improving the flow of traffic, and supporting the quality of life in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in line with the emirate’s vision of developing a sustainable and advanced urban transportation system..
