The weightlifting team for people of determination participates in the Asian Oceania Championship in Thailand

Dubai, April 6 / WAM / The UAE Weightlifting National Team for People of Determination will tomorrow begin its participation in the 2026 Asian-Oceania Open Championship, which is hosted by the Thai capital Bangkok and will continue until April 12, with the participation of elite players from the continent.
249 male and female players, representing 23 national teams, participate in the tournament, and it gains special importance as it is the second mandatory stop on the path to qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games, which enhances the level of competition and gives it a highly competitive character.
Our national team is represented by 7 players: Muhammad Khamis Khalaf, in the weight of 88 kilograms, Ahmed Khamis Al Balushi, in the weight of over 107 kilograms, Mansour Al Marzouki, in the weight of 49 kilograms, and Abdullah Al Naqbi, in the weight of 107 kilograms, along with Haifa Al Naqbi, in the weight of over 67 kilograms, Moza Al Zeyoudi, in the weight of over 55 kilograms, and Fahd Muhammad, in the weight of 97 kilograms.
Abdullah Hassan Al Falasi, head of the mission, confirmed that the team completed its training program according to the plan approved before the start of the competitions, noting that the atmosphere is positive and reflects a high level of focus and discipline.
He explained that the team went through an intensive preparation period that focused on raising physical and technical readiness, and preparing the players for continental competition, in line with the importance of the current stage in the Paralympic qualification journey.
