Paris Saint-Germain stars are “disappointed” despite the victory over Liverpool

Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia said in an interview with “Canal +” that his French team, Paris Saint-Germain, “had opportunities to score more goals” on Wednesday at the “Parc des Princes” stadium against Liverpool in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
The scorer of the second goal in the 2-0 victory, after the defending champion created a large number of chances (14) against his English guest, said: “We had chances to score more goals, and we should have scored more goals in some moments. But we played a good match. We must stay focused because the atmosphere will be amazing at Anfield.”
Midfielder Warren Zaire Emery admitted that the Parisians feel “frustrated” before Tuesday’s return match in Liverpool.
He said, “There is always an aspect of satisfaction when you win 2-0, but also some frustration because you had opportunities like this, and it would have been better if we went to Anfield with a three or four goal lead.”
He added, “But this is how things are. We will go with our intentions, with our high pressure, and with our desire to play in their half of the field and to always give everything we have.”
He continued, “We are confident. We know that the second part of the season is the best here, and we will do everything we have as usual.”
As for Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, he considered it a “wonderful” evening, explaining, “We were not given chances and we did not concede goals,” as he explained in French to the media.
