Bayern Munich star will miss the “fateful” confrontation with Real Madrid

Bayern Munich’s German midfielder, Lennart Karl, suffered an injury to the posterior muscle of his right thigh and will miss the upcoming matches, including facing Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, according to what the club announced in a statement on Friday.
Bayern did not specify the duration of the absence of its 18-year-old player, only referring to a “muscle tear” without clarifying the extent of its seriousness. In such injuries, the period of absence may not be less than three weeks.
The offensive player will miss at least the league match scheduled for Saturday in Hamburg against St. Pauli, as well as the match with Real Madrid on Wednesday in Munich.
Karl, who graduated from the Bayern Academy, has imposed himself this season within the rotation system in the Bavarian team’s offensive line, as a preferred option for Belgian coach Vincent Kompany when he needs to rest the usual key players.
Thanks to his level (four goals in the Champions League in particular), Karl was called up for the first time to the ranks of the German national team during the international break in late March, and he aspires to reserve a place for himself on the list of 23 to 26 players for the 2026 World Cup in North America.
