I may run for president again in 2028

Former US Vice President Kamla Harris, who ran for the Democratic Party in 2024 and lost to President Donald Trump, said that she is considering running for office again in 2028.

Harris said today, Friday, in response to the question of activist and media figure Al Sharpton during her appearance at a meeting of the civil rights organization National Action Network, “Maybe, maybe. I’m thinking about it, I’m thinking about it.”

The crowd cheered during the event in New York City after Harris’ response.

Harris previously held the position of Senator, Attorney General of California, and other positions. Harris ran an unsuccessful race for the Democratic nomination in 2020.

Harris’ 2028 campaign faces challenges among voters who indicated in opinion polls their desire to see new leaders of the Democratic Party after Harris’ loss to Trump.

The National Action Network conference attracted a number of potential Democratic candidates, including Josh Shapiro, Governor of Pennsylvania, Pete Buttigieg, the former Secretary of Transportation, J.B. Pritzker, Governor of Illinois, and others.
