المملكة: “Ports”: No exemptions for “transit” and 10 riyals for every ton

The new legislation, within Circular No. 11 of 2026 AD, revealed the imposition of 10 riyals for each ton, or part thereof, as daily storage fees for those goods.
The General Authority clarified For ports, these fees are subject to direct application to other types of Goodsother than containers, flats, and trailers arriving by transit or transshipment.
The regulatory administration indicated that the calculation of these costs begins immediately from the time of unloading the goods, and continues until their actual exit from the port.
It indicated that this control procedure depends very precisely on the time stamp approved in Operational systemswithin each port to ensure the maximum degree of transparency.
The General Ports Authority, through the Vice President for Regulation, Yousef bin Muhammad Al-Hussan, stressed the complete absence of any exemption periods from storage fees for all types of goods subject to this circular until they leave the port.
The new instructions excluded containers, flats, and trailers, as they continue to be treated in accordance with what is stated in the two items specified in the port services fees and fees system.
