"Seventh regional" In the Equestrian World, a new show jumping competition is being introduced
Sharjah, April 20 / WAM / The Seventh Regional Group of the International Equestrian Federation, headed by His Excellency Sultan Muhammad Khalifa Al Yahyai, and based in the UAE, announced the introduction of the under-25 category competitions in the finals of the international show jumping championships in the group’s countries.
Al-Yahyaei said that the new under-25 category is an important addition to the categories of children, youth and youth. The organization of its competitions will be approved in the next editions of the championship, with the aim of improving the capabilities of male and female riders and enhancing their competitiveness for international championships, especially since the initial evaluation indicators indicate an increase in the number of participants and the strength of the competitions in their first evaluation during the Doha finals that concluded on Saturday.
He praised the success of Qatar’s hosting of the finals of the show jumping championship in the group countries for the second year in a row, pointing out that the competitions revealed advanced levels in all categories, and confirmed the great growth of this sport at the regional level, the great future that awaits it, and the high numbers of participants, in addition to the distinguished technical indicators of the coaches.
He stressed the regional group’s keenness to diversify the organization of tournaments, implement strategic programs to increase practitioners of their various types, organize forums and development programs in the technical and arbitration aspects, and prepare qualified cadres.
Al Yahyai pointed to the growing interest in equestrian sports, such as qualifying rounds in show jumping, endurance and dressage events, and other activities aimed at empowering male and female riders with competitive skills and gaining experience for all ages, especially since the countries of the group are keen to request the organization of various tournaments.
