With directions "Mother of the Emirates"..The General Women’s Union concludes its official visit to China

Abu Dhabi, April 20 / WAM / The General Women’s Union delegation, headed by Her Excellency Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the Union, concluded its official visit to the friendly People’s Republic of China, from April 12 to 19, which aimed to build international strategic partnerships that support the path of empowering Emirati women and enhance their presence globally.
This visit comes under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, as a translation of the UAE’s vision to advance women’s empowerment to the stage of making a global impact, within the objectives of the “Mother of the Emirates 50:50”, by expanding the presence of Emirati women in various vital sectors, and enhancing their role as an active partner in international development paths, within the framework of an integrated approach that combines political, economic, social and cultural dimensions, to reflect The comprehensiveness of the Emirati vision in empowering women and enhancing their international presence.
The visit witnessed an extensive work programme, and was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to the People’s Republic of China, which contributed to coordinating the meetings and arranging the visit programme. Reflecting the depth of the institutional presence and the breadth of partnerships, the delegation held a series of meetings with 107 Chinese entities, with the participation of 188 government and economic leaders, distributed between official meetings that included 49 participants, and round tables in which 25 representatives from various entities participated, in addition to the first gathering of the Emirati-Chinese Women Entrepreneurship Council to build relations, which attracted 114 participants from 81 entities, in an indicator that reflects the breadth of the base of cooperation and the diversity of partners.
The scope of the interaction also extended to a wide institutional system that includes about 1,942 entities affiliated with the entities that were met, while the accompanying activities achieved a remarkable media impact, as Chinese media coverage during the first two days of the visit recorded more than 70 million impressions across various platforms, and more than 400 thousand reads, in addition to hundreds of media materials and digital interactions, which reflects the influential presence of the visit at the media and professional levels.
These partnerships gain additional importance in light of the economic indicators related to women’s entrepreneurship in China, as the market value of listed companies led by women in the Chinese stock market exceeds more than 10 trillion Chinese yuan, an indication of the weight of women’s presence in the economy.
Her Excellency Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi confirmed that the visit constituted an advanced step in the process of building international partnerships, and resulted in qualitative outcomes that included the signing of memorandums of understanding and the expansion of areas of cooperation with a number of government agencies, economic institutions, and organizations concerned with the empowerment of women in China, which contributes to the development of joint initiatives and the exchange of experiences in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
She added that these outputs reflect a strategic direction towards consolidating the presence of Emirati women on the international scene and enhancing their contribution to the future economy, in line with the UAE’s aspirations to build sustainable development models based on knowledge and effective partnerships.
Engineer Ghalia Al Mannai, Head of Strategic and Development Affairs at the General Women’s Union, confirmed that the UAE’s embassies around the world represent an essential pillar in supporting the goals of “Mother of the Emirates 50:50,” by strengthening international partnerships and empowering Emirati women on the global stage.
She added that the Union is adopting a strategic direction towards expanding the building of qualitative partnerships, in a way that enhances the presence of Emirati women as an inspiring model for women around the world, noting that these efforts are being implemented in integration with embassies to ensure the sustainability of cooperation and expand the impact of the initiatives in partner countries.
In this context, the presidency of the Emirati-Chinese Women’s Entrepreneurship Council was assigned to Her Excellency Counselor Amna Al Hammadi, Deputy Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the People’s Republic of China, to represent both the General Women’s Union and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in official meetings and related events, in a way that enhances institutional integration, consolidates the joint presence of economic diplomacy between the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China, and supports the effectiveness of the Council’s work in its next phase.
In the final stop of the visit, the delegation toured a factory for colored ceramic decoration in Beijing, and learned about the stages of production of artistic ceramics, which is considered one of the most prominent Chinese traditional crafts, due to its precision in manufacturing and the quality of its hand decoration. The visit also discussed ways to support female entrepreneurs in the creative and craft industries sector, and to promote the transformation of cultural heritage into sustainable economic opportunities.
At the conclusion of its visit, the delegation stressed the importance of continuing joint work with international partners, in a way that supports the development of qualitative initiatives, expands the scope of cooperation, and contributes to strengthening the position of Emirati women as an influential element in shaping the future of development at the global level, expressing its appreciation for the role played by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Beijing in supporting and organizing the visit program.
